5 Reasons Why Giant Paper Flowers are Better than Real

Paper Flower Lantern - 40cm #prettybigflowers

Paper Flowers, Who’d Have Thought?

You’ve most likely been planning your wedding for years – maybe even before your partner to be was in the picture!

The magazines have stacked up, your Pinterest boards are full and you’ve collected links to hundreds of blogs.

In amongst the noise have you discovered yet why using giant paper flowers as a replacement for real blooms is becoming more and more popular?

Here’s our top 5 reasons paper may arguably be a better choice than cut:

1 – Eco and Allergy Friendly

Think about the close contact you, your family and your guests have to your wedding flower displays. They are at the church entrance, on pew ends, chair backs and are a focal point for every table at the reception. Now imagine that one (or these days probably more) of your friends or family suffer from allergies. How will it affect their enjoyment of the day, and subsequently yours as you realise their discomfort?

Why even take the chance when paper flowers offer you the perfect solution?

2- Mementos

Paper flowers last. Plain and simple. You can keep them as mementos by using them to decorate your home.

Giant Paper Flowers at Home

But why keep at that beauty to yourself? Giant paper flowers make unique and personal gifts for your bridesmaids and those who have supported you before, during and after the day. Make them even more special by writing a thank you on a petal.

3 – Value

How much have you budgeted for your wedding flowers? Does it differ from the quotes you’ve recieved?  Paper flowers, especially self-assembly ones, are a fraction of the cost of live or even pre-made paper blooms.

Create more impact for less by moving your paper flower displays around your wedding venues to serve many purposes.

And if saving money on your initial purchase isn’t enough, how about recouping your investment? Once you have made your decorations they are totally resalable! In fact, because you’ve taken the time to make the blooms by reselling your giant paper flowers online you may even make a profit!

4 – Inclusiveness

Do you have friends and family who would like to be involved in the planning or decision making at your wedding? I think most of us know a few of those. Making your own paper flower decorations is the perfect solution.

No one needs to be left out because you can create memories with your loved ones before the event. Pop a bottle of fizz on your Hen Night and get the girls (or even granny) around for a Big Paper Flower making evening.  Plus everyone will have great fun playing “spot my flower” on the day.

5 – Personal and Unique

The blooms you create are of your own design and can be totally unique to your special day. You’re not tied to what is in season or having to ship from abroad. Neither are you limited by the shape and style of pre-made blooms.

Making your own flowers means you can create exactly the look you want – and even design your own personal, never-been-seen-before flowers.

Want proof of how creative you can get? There’s plenty of inspiration to be had around the web and from our 30 Day Design Challenge gallery. Can you believe all of the flowers below started with the exact same 30cm flower kit?

A Stretch Too Far

Can’t contemplate totally scrapping live flowers at your wedding? You’re not alone. Giant paper flowers add a touch of feminine glamour to any event whether on their own or as an accompaniment to real blooms. Life is rarely either/or.

Whatever your choice, here’s wishing you a stunningly happy day!

As we are counting down I’m saving the hottest to the end. This day 29 flower is definitely Scarlet.

It takes on such a different personality when blended with other colours. It’s soft with the cream, very Christmas with Casino Gold, summer bloom with Bright Red and almost poppy like with the Ebony.

Speaking of Poppy blooms…did you think we’d let Poppy Day go by without offering you a beautiful Poppy paper flower? Of course not!

Keep your eyes open for our Poppy launch COMING SOON.

Pretty Big Flowers 30 Day Colour Challenge Day 23

Day 23 of the Pretty Big Flowers’ Big Paper Flower Colour Challenge

Look at this fabulous day 23 flower colour combination.

The base flower is the beautiful Amethyst and the centres are Mandarin, Fuschia, Casino Gold and Citrine.

My high school colours were purple and gold and that colour combination would have been perfect for prom or graduation decorations.

Rich!
